Copyright, Credits & Creative Works
High Tide Haven is a community built by creators, for creators. Because of that, we take intellectual property, attribution, and creative etiquette seriously.
Respect Copyright and Creator Rights
Members are expected to comply with applicable copyright laws and respect the rights of fellow creators.
As a general rule:
* Only share work that you created or have permission to share.
* Do not upload, distribute, or claim ownership of another person's work.
* Do not share pirated software, assets, tutorials, media, or other copyrighted materials.
* Do not remove watermarks, signatures, or credits from another creator's work.
Respect Terms of Use and Licenses
Many artists, designers, photographers, coders, musicians, and other creators allow their work to be used under specific conditions.
If a creator provides a license, terms of use, attribution requirements, or usage restrictions, you are expected to follow them.
Examples include:
* Requiring credit
* Restricting commercial use
* Prohibiting edits or modifications
* Limiting redistribution
* Requiring a link back to the original source
If you are unsure whether a particular use is permitted, contact the creator directly before using their work.
Give Credit Where Credit Is Due
Whenever your project includes resources created by someone else, please provide appropriate credit whenever possible.
This may include:
* Artwork
* Brushes
* Textures
* Patterns
* Templates
* Fonts
* 3D models
* Stock photography
* Music
* Code
* Tutorials
* Other creative resources
If a creator requests a specific form of attribution, please follow their instructions.
Giving credit is not only good etiquette, it's a sign of respect for the people whose work helps inspire and support our own.
Fan Art and Inspired Works
Fan art, transformative works, parody, and inspired creations are generally welcome within the community.
However, members should understand that intellectual property laws can be complex and vary by jurisdiction. Staff may remove content if we believe it presents legal concerns or violates the rights of a creator, company, or copyright holder.
Questions or Disputes
If you believe your work has been used improperly, or if you have questions regarding copyright, attribution, or licensing, please contact the staff team privately.
Public disputes about ownership, infringement, tracing, theft, or attribution often create more confusion than resolution. Staff will review concerns on a case-by-case basis and determine the appropriate course of action.
Staff Discretion
Not every situation involving creative ownership has a simple answer.
High Tide Haven reserves the right to remove content, request additional attribution, lock discussions, or take other moderation actions when necessary to protect creators, members, or the community as a whole.
