Every town has its cast of characters, and High Tide Haven is no different. Some you’ll find at the counter at The Wave & Waffle, some drifting along the Coral Coast, and some who just…show up whenever they please.

These are the folks (and not-so-folks) who give the Haven its flavor: the wise, the weird, the wandering, and the ones you swear you’ve seen before but can’t quite place. They may not all get their own headlines, but together they’re the tide pool of personalities that make this community what it is—colorful, unpredictable, and impossible to imagine without.

Howard’s Cousin and Proprietor of the Fig & Firefly Apothecary

  • Inventive and wild-eyed, she builds “improvements” to her shell that never work.
  • Half of them involve bottle rockets.
  • Believes she can fly. Has not succeeded. Yet.
  • Usually followed by a suspicious trail of smoke or raccoons.

The ultimate cuddle coil. Long, lanky, and endlessly affectionate, Nanner loves hugs so much he’ll wrap you up like a tamale if you’re not careful. Cheerful and oblivious to personal space, he sometimes knocks things over or pops inflatables in his joy—but never means harm.

With a soothing voice and a gift for lullabies, Nanner dreams of being a licensed massage therapist. Known around the Coral Coast as the friendliest boa you’ll ever meet, he’s often found swaddling friends in “welcome back” hugs, occasionally doubling as a human-sized weighted blanket during movie nights at The Wave & Waffle.

He wears a little bandana near his neck (a hand-me-down from Ma Turtley) and always brings his own pillow if he wants to curl up somewhere cozy.
